It’s Not Easy (or cheap) Being Beautiful - Just ask Naomi Campbell

Supermodel Naomi Campbell spends approximately $700 on eyelash extensions every six weeks. Ouch. Not sure which is worse, the money or the time lost. Naomi spends four hours in a London salon that specializes in applying giant luscious lashes. The salon will also give you Eagle talons for the right price. They take a bit longer to apply.

With eyelash extensions, she gets all the effects of mascara without the fuss of clogging make-up and, at night, she doesn’t have to waste time removing every last trace of it, a source says. Great time saving tip - I’ll shell out the $700, spend four hours in the salon and save 10 minutes a night not removing my mascara. If I do that for 24 days straight, I’ll get those 4 hours back!!

Each synthetic eyelash extension is hand-cut from Ostrich tails and attached to the natural lash with cosmetic, non-toxic glue. They tried to use model airplane glue but that made her eyes water. Despite giving her eyes such luxurious treatment, the 37-year-old model previously insisted she has never resorted to plastic surgery to enhance her looks.

The supermodel has said, “I just take care of my body. I don’t drink alcohol and I work out for two hours a day. I don’t see myself as gorgeous and I’m fed up with people saying I’ve had plastic surgery and liposuction. I don’t need it because blacks don’t crack. My grandmother has fantastic genes and only has about one wrinkle.” Well, there it is. She doesn’t drink and she doesn’t crack. What more do you need to know?

Naomi is not the only star to take pride in her eyelashes. Jennifer Lopez caused controversy when it was claimed she wore fake lashes made from a monkey’s tail.
