From Party of Five to Party with Us…

I’m in Love with a Ghost…

If you’re older than 25, you’ve watched at last one episode of Party of Five; mostly remembered for its sugary sweet portrayal of a family of 5 kids trying to deal with the sudden loss of their parents. Men over 25 remember that show for a different reason: a hottie-in-waiting named Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Like Alyssa Milano and others before her, this child actor is now all growed up and judging by her spreads in Maxim and Rolling Stone Magazine, she’s not afraid to show it. Fast forward to 2007, and now starring in her own series, the Ghost Whisperer on CBS, Jennifer Love Hewitt’s sex appeal and real acting talent draw in millions of people each week. Gimme Some ‘Love’
Ms. Love-Hewitt’s unusual name was a product of a single hippie mother who’s best friend in college also happened to be name Love. After the urging of a talent scout, her mother moved the family to Los Angeles so that Jennifer could work on a bigger and better career.

Jennifer’s first real break was a part for a Disney Channel show called Kids Incorporated. Using this as a launching pad she was chosen for several pilot episodes and television series, such as Shaky Ground and McKenna, until she landed one of the starring roles on Fox’s Party of Five. Becoming ‘Sarah Reeves’ on that show altered her career path forever as evidenced by the millions of fans that still recognize her from that character.

The Siren of the Silver Screen Calls…
Unfortunately for all of us, Party of Five was cancelled following it’s seventh season, so Jennifer went on the hunt for movie roles to broaden her skills and her appeal. Landing a part in the film Munchie pushed her to the front of those long audition lines. Shortly after her appearance in the Indie hit, she struck gold with I Know What You Did Last Summer as the film grossed over $125 million worldwide. Recognizing her ability to carry a profitable film, Love-Hewitt was now A-list material. She continued to pick up other starring roles in films and was considered for Rose McGowan’s role in Charmed. And while she lost out on that role in 1999, she did earn the coveted #1 spot on Maxim’s Sexiest Women in the World; quite a coup for a girl that began her career at only three years old singing at a local livestock show in Texas.

Further enhancing her star quality, Jennifer was selected for the role of Audrey Hepburn in The Audrey Hepburn Story. With this role and her widespread popularity, Nokia chose this fresh faced beauty to be their spokesperson.

A Child No More
Love-Hewitt broke away from her ‘child actor’ label for good when she appeared as Enrique Iglesias’ love interest in his music video for the mega-hit “Heroes” in 2001. This multi-talented star has done voice-overs (Madelaine in The Hunchback of Notre Dame II) and she even co-wrote the character’s song, “I’m Gonna Love You.” When does she find time for her beauty rest?

Jennifer the Pop Star
Most people in the United States recognize Jennifer Love Hewitt’s face (and figure) for her, um, acting. Millions of screaming fans in Japan know her for her singing and stage performances. In Asia, she’s a true pop star because her sappy and perky songs are well received by Japanese teens who don’t worry or don’t understand the vacant lyrics and the ‘cute’ tunes. “The poppier the music, the better.” Can we send some other bands over there? While most of her music falls on the lower end of the charts in the United States, it continues to top charts in both Japan and Australia.

Staying Clear of the Tabloids…So Far
Her personal life has not made for great tabloid fodder, yet. Although there were some rumors and photos flying when she dated singer John Mayer, she has moved on to date Ross McCall since early 2006. Her philanthropic gestures appear in the news more often, serving as the ‘godmother’ of the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund, where she plays a major role in contributing and helping with the charity events. Is she really that nice? Maybe…

“I got lots of those (offers to take off her clothes). But I can’t. It’s just not me. I feel like there’s still a world full of people out there who think there’s not much more to me than the girl who can wear tiny tops. So if I had actually gone and done those things (shedding the tiny top) to try to prove something, where would I be? I want to be a dork! It’s fun to be goofy and silly.” — Jennifer Love Hewitt

Funny, I never knew that she acted, sang and danced before today. As for tiny tops?
